Barbra Streisand hasn’t been a big fan of Cher over the years, but she’s feeling incredibly sorry for her sister diva over the sad downward spiral of the “If I Could Turn Back Time” singer’s son, and insiders say the Funny Girl has reached out to offer support.
Sources confide that the 83-year-old A Star Is Born icon became concerned for Cher, 79, after her son Elijah Blue Allman reportedly overdosed on a cocktail of heroin and fentanyl and was rushed to a hospital June 14, per The Sun.

The 49-year-old musician was found standing zombie-like in the front yard of a house in Joshua Tree, Calif., in broiling 104-degree heat — badly sunburned and with swollen hands and feet.
“Barbra feels for what Cher is going through, and she’s telling her to stay strong, that she will get through this,” says an insider.
As Globe previously reported, the famed divas haven’t always seen eye to eye.
Sources say a feud erupted when Barbra snubbed Cher at a party in the 1970s, and more recently, when they competed over the release of their memoirs.
The insider insists that whatever quarrel they had is forgotten as far as Babs is concerned.
“Barbra insists that the so-called feud with Cher has always been blown way out of proportion,” says the insider.
“It’s true they were never exactly close, but she’s always had enormous respect for her talent and toughness and seeing her in so much pain over Elijah’s terrible addiction has really hit her hard.”

Barbra and actor-husband James Brolin have faced family battles with addiction as his sons — Deadpool 2 star Josh, 57, and Jess, 53 — have had very public struggles.
During a 2024 appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Josh credited his superstar stepmom with helping him stay sober since 2013.

Adds the insider: “Barbra understands what Cher is going through. Cher has also done the tough love bit and Barbra commends her for it.”
“She’s letting Cher know she’s there for her and ready to offer whatever support she might need. Considering how proud Cher is, it’s unlikely she’ll take Barbra up on the offer but it’s still a very kind gesture, and no doubt was appreciated.”
