Avalon Spirits has launched Whiskey Row Bourbon, a new line of bourbons inspired by the rich history and innovative spirit of pre-Prohibition Kentucky whiskey.

Whiskey Row Bourbon pays homage to Louisvilles historic Whiskey Row, a hub of bourbon innovation from 1850 through Prohibition. This area was a convergence point for Americas finest bourbons, shipped down the Ohio River for blending and exporting. The new bourbon line seeks to revive the experimental aging methods that defined this era.

Late distiller Steve Thompson, a Bourbon Hall of Fame inductee, envisioned Whiskey Row Bourbon as a return to these pre-Prohibition blending techniques. In his honor, Avalon Spirits has embraced the craftsmanship and experimental aging methods that characterized the early days of bourbon, starting with the Triple Wood, Bottled in Bond, and Cask Strength expressions, each crafted at the Kentucky Artisan Distillery in Crestwood, Ky.

The Triple Wood expression is matured for at least four years and finished in Cognac and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, adding complexity to its flavor profile. Bottled in Bond follows a rigorous process to ensure quality, while Cask Strength is left unfinished to intensify its bold flavors. These expressions reflect the art of distillation, maturation and blending, setting the stage for future regional releases.

“Whiskey Row Bourbon is rooted in Louisville, Kentucky, but its origins reflect a broader range of flavors across America — shaped by the agriculture, entrepreneurship, and exchange of ideas that established bourbon as the quintessential American spirit,” said Avalon Spirits Founder John Glover. “While it celebrates bourbons historical heartland, Whiskey Row Bourbon will, much like the broader American identity, blend new and old traditions to explore the next frontier of American whiskey.”

Whiskey Row Bourbon is now available in several states, including Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, and Tennessee, with plans for a global rollout.
