Linda Blair‘s Los Angeles home was raided on Friday, where investigators found more than 250 dogs.
Blair, 67, claimed in a video shared via Facebook on Friday, July 31, that the issue was all a matter of “paperwork” as her permits reportedly expired in 2023. However, neighbors are telling a different story.
According to TMZ, neighbors of Blair have voiced concerns over her 2.5-acre no-kill shelter for years. An unnamed neighbor told the outlet that the shelter was housing “way too many dogs,” and the constant howls and cries sounded like the animals were “in distress.”
The Department of Regional Planning attempted to contract Blair 24 times before serving the investigative warrant.
TMZ reported Monday that “no dogs showed signs of illness or injury,” according to law enforcement sources. None of the dogs have been removed from the property.

A former employee defended the Born Innocent actress to TMZ, claiming allegations of neglect are unfounded. However, he added that the 2025 Palisades fire drastically increased the number of dogs housed at Blair’s property.
“The animals are good in lieu of our surprise visit in 105° heat! With as busy as we all are in animal rescue and saving lives from the hot deserts and abandoned animals and shelters, everyone’s emails and social media are overloaded!” Blair shared via Facebook on Friday.
