Queer Eye fans were shocked when Karamo Brown pulled out of multiple talk show appearances with his castmates on Tuesday, January 20. As rumors of on-set drama among the Fab Five has grown, Antoni Porowski claims “two things can be true.”
After Porowski, 41, shared a series of photos from season 10 on premiere day, an Instagram follower claimed “the backstage drama kinda kills the vibe of the show.”
“I’m not motivated to watch you all portray to be a big happy family on every episode knowing it’s all fake,” the critical fan commented on Porowski’s Wednesday, January 21, post. “If you can’t work out your own mess, how can you be in charge of fixing someone else’s life?”
“A lot of us come from complicated families and still have jobs and positive things we’re passionate about,” Porowski responded. “Authenticity is about being honest about the complexities of life and knowing two things can exist at the same time.”

As Globe previously reported, Brown addressed his absence in a message shared with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, claiming he felt “mentally and emotionally abused.”
“I hope everyone remembers the main theme I have tried to teach them over the past decade, which is to focus on and to protect their mental health/peace from people or a world who seek to destroy it; which is why I can’t be there today,” Brown explained.
During the episode, Porowski admitted “surprised is a fair understatement” after hearing King read Brown’s statement, noting, “families are complicated and we’re definitely not excluded from that.”
