Andrew Tate’s Link to Barron Trump Is ‘Raising Questions’ Republicans ‘Would Rather Not Answer’

After Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested Saturday, July 18, in Miami as British authorities seek their extradition on rape and sex trafficking charges, the brothers’ political ties are coming back into the spotlight.

A Wednesday, July 22, report in journalist Rob Shuter‘s Naughty But Nice Substack points to Andrew’s link to President Donald Trump‘s youngest son, Barron Trump.

“The Barron angle has added another layer of attention to an already high-profile case,” a political insider told Shuter.

“Whether the connection is meaningful or not,” the political insider added, “it’s raising questions that many Republicans would rather not answer.”

As Globe previously reported, the 20-year-old college student and Andrew, 39, appeared to become friendly.

A New Yorker report published in June claimed the former professional kickboxer began relationships with the New York University student and his brother Donald Trump, Jr. in the weeks before the 2024 presidential election.

The controversial manosphere figure also allegedly recruited Justin Waller — another influencer who is featured in Louis Theroux‘s documentary, Inside the Manosphere, and calls himself Andrew and Tristan’s “third brother” — to meet with Barron.

According to the New Yorker, Waller gave Barron “dating advice” and hooked the first son up with a tailor who made the suit he would end up wearing to his father’s inauguration after the Apprentice alum won the election.

During the suit fitting, Barron allegedly spoke to Andrew via Zoom.

Andrew reportedly claimed he spoke to Barron again after the assassination attempt on his father in Pennsylvania. “I’m very close with the Trump family,” Andrew said, per the New Yorker.

The New York Times similarly reported in December 2025 that Andrew and Barron had communicated via Zoom. However, the Tates’ lawyer called the Times‘ findings about Andrew and Barron “fake news.”

The Associated Press reported that the Tates will fight extradition to the United Kingdom, and their lawyer suggested their recent arrest was politically motivated.

The Tates, via their attorney Joseph McBride, maintain their innocence.

“We are of course objecting to extradition because Andrew and Tristan are innocent,” McBride said, per the AP. “They’ve never done nothing wrong. They shouldn’t be extradited for crimes they did not commit.”
