A young Burmese mountain dog named Luna is recovering after a veterinarian removed 44 “foreign bodies” from socks to hair ties from her abdomen.

The Corona Animal Emergency Center in Corona, Calif., called 7-month-old Luna’s story a “miracle” and posted photos of the many items she had eaten on Facebook.

Luna’s family came to the veterinarian after noticing she had been vomiting and had a “firm, distended abdomen.” During an exploratory abdominal surgery performed on Feb. 16, Dr. Jenny and her team found an incredible 44 foreign bodies in her system.

Among the items Luna had eaten were “24 socks, a scrunchie, hair ties, a shoe insert, and miscellaneous cloth pieces,” which were pulled from her stomach, plus a small onesie that had gotten into her intestines, creating a blockage.

“Against all odds, **Luna survived** and is now on the road to recovery,” Corona Animal Emergency Center said. “This is a testament to the skill of our team and the resilience of our furry friends.”

In an update this week, the vet said Luna was recovering and “wagging her tail again.”

“Lunas story is a reminder to trust your instincts. If you notice vomiting, lethargy, or a firm abdomen, dont wait—act fast and contact your vet,” the animal hospital said. “Thank you to Lunas family for trusting us with her care, and to everyone who has followed her journey and sent love her way. Shes one special pup, and were honored to have been part of her story.”
