Tough-As-Nails Tim McGraw is suffering from a shocking body breakdown that’s forced the country music king to pull out of his hotly anticipated Netflix series and put his future as a live performer in doubt, tipsters tattle.

The Grown Men Don’t Cry singer, 57, was set to star in and coproduce an as-yet-untitled show set in the competitive bull riding rodeo world — but he’s been bucked from the screen role by health woes!

The project was to be Tim’s acting follow-up to the Yellowstone prequel 1883, which costarred his country superstar wife, Faith Hill.

But in August, Tim endured grueling double knee surgery, which caused him to cancel his remaining 2024 concert tour dates, and now doctors have told him he needs to go under the knife for his balky back and will need extensive recovery time!

“The role would have been way too demanding physically, and Tim just thought he would never be able to pull it off — even with rest and rehab,” confides a friend.

Industry sources say McGraw withdrew, so the part could potentially be recast.

An insider tells GLOBE Tim’s body has been breaking down since 2022 when he lost his balance onstage and fell into a concert crowd in Arizona.

But the spy says that McGraw believes some of his problems developed when he became a fitness fanatic after his successful battle with alcoholism. The hitmaker’s unhinged boozing saw him downing shots of whiskey as early as 8 a.m. until Hill gave him an ultimatum 15 years ago to either beat the bottle or hit the road — without her and their three daughters, Gracie, 27, Maggie, 26, and Audrey, 23.

“Tim threw himself whole hog into working out as a way to find a new focus after all those years of self-abuse,” the friend explains. “He would work out up to four hours a day and even do extreme fitness stuff like lifting and throwing tractor tires.

“Tim has had to curtail that, but he fears that he may have overdone it and put his body through too much — and that’s why he is having serious problems today.”

Now, moles say that McGraw is concerned for his career!

“It’s a cruel blow. He worked so hard to get fit,” dishes the pal. “But he’s at the point now that he’s going to have to scale back his high-energy shows — or retire from the road altogether!”
