Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson has claimed that no one formally asked her out on a date before her third husband — but fans don’t believe her
The comment on Monday’s broadcast of Today with Jenna & Friends, which Johansson is guest hosting this week, prompted shock and amazement from viewers, who struggled to believe what she was saying.
Johansson, 41, who married Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost in October 2020, spoke about her past romances and how she and Jost’s relationship didn’t begin with a traditional date.
“Honestly, nobody ever asked me out really before,” she told her cohost, Jenna Bush Hager, with Hager replying, “I don’t believe that.”

Johansson added: “I’m telling you. People say that, but it’s true. I was a serial monogamist, and, like, I never got the kind of traditional, like, ‘Hey, would you like to have dinner with me sometime?’
“I don’t know if it was just because I was working since I was little,” she added. “I don’t know why, but I just didn’t get asked.”
Johansson and Jost were first linked as a couple in May 2017 when they were seen kissing at the Saturday Night Live finale after-party for Season 42.
At the time, she was in the middle of finalizing a divorce from French journalist Romain Dauriac after three years of marriage. The pair share an 11-year-old daughter, Rose Dorothy,
In the past Scarlett was also married to actor Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2011 and had been romantically linked with multiple other A-list stars down the years, including Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto, and Sean Penn.
For this reason fans found her admission about a lack of dates hard to believe.

According to The Sun US on Instagram one said: “She was married to Ryan Reynolds. What do you mean you’ve never been asked out.”
Another added: “She hadn’t dated but had a kid already???”
Johannson is cohosting Today all week as part of the show’s rotating line-up of celebrity guest hosts since Jenna’s former cohost, Hoda Kotb, departed in January.
