Nolan Wells Update: Newly Uncovered Video Potentially Shows Teen in His Final Hours

New footage of Nolan Wells before he died may have been uncovered.

On Tuesday, July 21, TMZ obtained a video from the 4th of July party on Horn Island showing people enjoying themselves on boats and in the water.

In the video, the camera pans to someone with the 18-year-old’s skin tone bending down in swim trunks that match the ones he was wearing that day.

According to metadata, the video was recorded at 2:23 PM, which is about 2 hours before the boat Wells and his friends were on left Horn Island around 4:30 PM, per GPS, and returned to the Mississippi mainland without him, TMZ reported.

TMZ explained that the person who recorded the clip brought it to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office last week, and law enforcement confirmed to the outlet that investigators are aware of the footage.

Amid the search for her son, the Mississippi college football player’s mother, Christine Wonsley, took to Instagram on Sunday, July 5, and asked the public, “Please continue to look through your photos and videos specifically starting around 4:30 PM. We have received pics around that time showing him walking on the beach. Again please ONLY PRIVATE MESSAGE me if you have information.”

As Globe previously reported, Wells’ body was discovered on the island on Monday, July 6. Investigators believe that he drowned, but the cause of death has not been officially ruled on as the case remains under investigation. The family has hired civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump.
