Nicole Kidman and Maisie Williams ‘Hit It Off Like Gangbusters’ While Filming ‘Practical Magical 2’

There was magic in the air when Nicole Kidman and Maisie Williams teamed up for Practical Magic 2, with an insider revealing the costars’ on-set chemistry has blossomed into a rock-solid friendship.

“They absolutely hit it off like gangbusters,” the insider tells Globe. “Maisie was somebody Nicole had wanted to work with for a while.”

On Friday, August 7, the Oscar winner, 59, shared behind-the-scenes images of the women filming together with her Instagram followers. The Game of Thrones alum, 29, plays Kidman’s niece in the fantasy flick, which hits theaters on Friday, September 11.

“Nicole is generous when it comes to sharing the spotlight with younger actors,” notes the insider. “Maisie gets a lot to work with in this movie, including a lot of scenes directly with Nicole.”

The Mary Shelley star opened up to Teen Vogue about being “a huge fan” of the Moulin Rouge! alum, noting in an interview published on Friday, August 28, that Kidman had “really” taken her under her “wing” during the Practical Magic 2 shoot.

“It was like a real sisterhood,” she raved to the outlet.

Though production on the highly-anticipated sequel wrapped in September 2025, per Kidman’s social media, the movie’s promo tour had Williams seeking the Hollywood veteran’s guidance once again, spills Globe‘s source.

“Nicole helped to coordinate everybody’s red carpet and talk show looks,” explains the source. “Maisie’s no slouch in that department, but she looked to Nicole as her North Star to help her make a massive impression!”
