NFL Star Travis Kelce Is Feeling the Pressure as He Plans an Epic, Movie-Worthy Engagement for Taylor Swift

NFL superstar Travis Kelce has no fear catching passes with defenders hanging all over him, but insiders say the towering tight end is buckling under the pressure of proposing to his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, because he wants the moment to be perfect.

“Travis wants it to be unforgettable, like something out of a movie,” says a source.

The 35-year-old sent Taylor’s fans into a frenzy on the Amazon Upfronts 2025 red carpet on May 12 wearing a white T-shirt with a blue wedding cake on it.

Fans are certain this meant Travis was ready to pop the question to the “Bad Blood” singer.

“I feel wedding bells,” posts one on social media while another shares, “He just dropped a big hint, folks.”

Back in February, the Kansas City Chiefs player played it cool when asked about popping the question, saying with a sly grin: “Wouldn’t you like to know?”

But insiders say behind the scenes, the 6-foot-5, 250-pound Travis is obsessing over every last detail of the proposal.

“He’s feeling overwhelmed, the whole world is watching,” says a source. “Taylor’s fans are intense, and he knows anything less than perfect will be picked apart online.”

“He’s second-guessing everything, from the timing to the location, even what he’s going to wear. It’s sweet, but he’s definitely overthinking it.”

“He knows Taylor’s had plenty of big romantic moments in her life, and he’s determined to top them all. He wants to blow her away, and that’s a lot of pressure to put on yourself.”

According to insiders, the three-time Super Bowl champ, who’s been dating the 35-year-old pop star since late summer 2023, has lost sleep trying to get the ring just right.

“He’s secretly designing a custom sparkler with a high-end jeweler and has been bouncing ideas off her inner circle,” says the insider.

“They’ve all sworn to keep quiet, but some are dropping subtle hints to keep Taylor.”

Insiders say Travis is also grappling with whether it should be public or private.

“He knows Taylor values her privacy, but he also wants the moment to be epic. He’s talked about having her family and friends involved and to make it happen without her finding out,” says the source.

Despite his jitters, insiders insist the engagement is happening soon.

“He just wants it to be perfect — this isn’t just any proposal, it’s for Taylor Swift.”
