A New Jersey woman is facing federal charges after allegedly hatching a murder for hire plot against her ex-boyfriend with a man she met on the dating app Tinder.
The US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania announced on Wednesday, September 9, that it had indicted Jaclyn D. Diiorio on two counts of using interstate commerce facilities in the commission of a murder-for-hire. She is currently being held in federal custody until her next court appearance on September 14.
The arrest stems from an April 2025 incident in which police were notified by a confidential informant that they had been contacted by Diiorio, 26, on Tinder. After some lengthy correspondence and meeting in person, she revealed that she wanted to have her ex-boyfriend, a 53-year-old Philadelphia police officer, and his 19-year-old daughter killed. She offered the man, who she was unaware was a police informant, $12,000 for both murders, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.

She was taken into custody after giving him $500 as a down payment. At the time, she was charged with two counts of first-degree Attempted Murder, one count of first-degree Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and one count of third-degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.
According to an April 11, 2025 report from Fox29, Diiorio met her ex-boyfriend because she was his hairdresser and they dated for about a year starting in 2024. The outlet reports she filed a restraining order against him in August of that year, though the reason is unclear. The next month, his home was vandalized by Molotov cocktails. Diiorio was reportedly never connected nor investigated for that incident. However, the confidential informant told police that she brought that incident up unprompted during their conversations.
Diiorio and her ex ultimately broke up in March 2025.
