Megyn Kelly Slams ‘Sick’ Jimmy Kimmel for Melania Trump Joke, Calls on ABC to Take Action

Megyn Kelly is the latest conservative to call on ABC to take action with Jimmy Kimmel over a recent offensive joke he made in light of the gunfire that erupted at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner on Saturday, April 25.

During the Wednesday, April 22, episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! — two days before the incident, in which suspected gunman Cole Tomas Allen fired shots at the event before being arrested, took place — Kimmel, 58, performed an alternative White House Correspondents’ Dinner monologue in which he used old footage to roast certain people. Among them was First Lady Melania Trump, who he remarked “had the glow of an expectant widow.”

“Jimmy Kimmel is not funny. And here he was least funny of all,” Kelly, 55, said, declaring that the late-night talk show host should have learned his lesson after a joke he made about the assassination of Charlie Kirk led to his show getting pulled off the air for five days last fall.

“This is obviously before Saturday night,” the journalist admitted. “But it is not an exaggeration to say that Trump was almost killed in July of 2024. That’s recent. And for this guy to get up there and say she’s ‘got the glow of an expectant widow,’ like how insensitive can you be? Honestly, Trump, he’s got children, he’s got grandchildren. He does have a wife, and he has millions of people who love him. And the ‘glow of an expectant widow,’ how sick are you?”

Both Melania, 56, and President Donald Trump have issued calls to ABC demanding that they fire Kimmel over the joke. As Globe previously reported, Melania shared a post to X on Monday, April 27, writing: “People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate,” before urging ABC to “take a stand.”

Kimmel has not aired an episode of his talk show since the incident at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.

“Balls in your court, ABC. You’re not gonna be able to ignore this. You are not gonna be able to ignore both the President and the First Lady,” Kelly added. “She’s even more powerful than he is in this particular moment on this particular issue, speaking out.”
