Hilaria Baldwin Sends Pointed Message to Alec’s Daughter After Ireland Slammed ‘Poisonous’ People
Hilaria Baldwin is sending well wishes to stepdaughter Ireland Baldwin in celebration of her 30th birthday.
The former Dancing With the Stars contestant, 41, posted a carousel of photos to Instagram featuring Ireland — whom her husband Alec Baldwin shares with ex-wife Kim Basinger — and her family on Thursday, October 23, writing “Happy birthday @irelandirelandireland.”
In the caption, Hilaria added, “How lucky we are that we have you and how in awe I always am at your wisdom, strength, resilience. You are funny and smart…and you are the best mama, sister…friend, daughter. I cherish our relationship. You are so supportive and a true light in all of our lives. We love you so very much and it was so meaningful to celebrate with you today.”
Alec, 67, kept things simple with his Instagram post, captioning a single photo, “Happy birthday to my Ireland…” Basinger, 71, seemingly didn’t acknowledge the special day on social media, with her last Instagram grid post shared on September 17.
Hilaria and Alec’s posts come on the heels of Ireland’s recent Substack article about people in her family she considers “poisonous.”
According to the New York Post, Ireland recently wrote a candid post ahead of her 30th birthday titled “30, Flirty and Surviving.”
Available only to paid subscribers, Ireland said on Substack that she “grew up without two parents in my home and no siblings to turn to,” explaining that she once felt the need “to win over certain people.”
Without specifically naming anyone, she said, “Their validation and praise was meaningful to me. Nothing was more freeing than finally realizing how poisonous these people are. My daughter, [Holland, 2], doesn’t have to know these people. I can protect her from them. I can do my very best to construct my own idea of a family, piece by piece.”
Alec and Basinger married on August 19, 1993, and welcomed daughter Ireland on October 23, 1995. The couple separated on December 5, 2000, and divorced on September 3, 2002.
