Hawaii Volcano Episode 10 – Halemaʻumaʻu Eruption at the Summit of Kīlauea

Views of episode 10 of the Kīlauea summit eruption in Halema‘uma‘u, which began on the evening of February 19th, reached fountain heights of up to 410 feet before gradually waning. By sunrise on the 20th, scientists observed average fountain heights of 148-164 feet, with occasional pulses reaching up to 213 feet. The eruption, which lasted about 13 hours, was confined to the north vent.
