Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert broke her silence following her son Tyler Boebert‘s arrest on charges related to child sexual exploitation.

“I love my son,” Lauren, 39, said in a statement to TMZ on Monday, August 10. “We take these allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time.”

She added that there is “no excuse” for her son’s alleged actions, claiming that she is “very frustrated.”

The Representative from Colorado’s statement comes one day after Tyler, 21, was arrested in Garfield County, Colorado. He was charged with multiple felonies, including child sexual exploitation to induce or entice, sexual exploitation of a child, possession with intent, sexual exploitation of a child involving video, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to People.

The offenses stem from events that allegedly occurred on January 1, 2024.

Tyler was released hours after his arrest after posting a $10,000 bond. He is due back in court August 19.

The eldest child of the congresswoman and ex-husband Jayson Boebert was previously arrested in February 2024 on allegations of vehicle trespassing and property theft. He pleaded guilty to attempting to commit identity theft, according to Colorado Public Radio News. Tyler is due in court for a sentencing hearing in that case on September 10.

Tyler, who has one child, is also scheduled to be sentenced in a separate child abuse case on September 4. He pleaded guilty to one count of negligence following a 2025 arrest.

“Tyler has been doing a great job getting his life on track as a father and citizen over the past year,” Lauren told People in July 2025.
