A group of former workers at a Chinese-linked glass manufacturing company aired their grievances about poor working conditions to a prominent congressman in the U.S.
According to Fox News Digital, employees from Fuyao Glass America Inc., a Chinese-linked company that operates out of a former General Motors plant in Ohio, shared allegations of neglect, poor working conditions and mistreatment during a roundtable on Tuesday, October 6, at the International Union of Electrical Workers in Dayton. The group included Rep Ro Khanna, the ranking member of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, who is conducting Congressional oversight on Fuyao.
“My experience at Fuyao was not a good experience,” Tiffany Moore, a three-year veteran of the company, told the group, per the outlet.

“The heat in there is unbearable; they don’t care,” she added.
Another former employee, Demetria Hodges, who said she worked at the company for five years, explained how she believed the company went to great lengths to prevent the workers from unionizing.
“First, they were trying to use scare tactics to get us to not vote for the union,” Hodges reportedly told the group.
“Then they offered a $2 an hour pay raise … which they have never given again. And that was like 10 years ago,” she added.
Another former employee explained how employees were told to go back to work after 57-year-old Ricky Patterson died on the job in a horrible factory accident.
“When that guy got smashed by … glass, we had to work the next day, we were stressed out. He was trying to load up the glass. He was a little shaky because he had just lost his mom,” the employee told the roundtable.
