Police say a Florida woman followed her boyfriend to a parked car in the middle of the night, convinced he was with someone else. The encounter ended with her facing an attempted murder charge.
The New York Post reported on Tuesday, October 27, that Katherine Dale Kelly is accused of firing into a vehicle in Port St. John early Saturday, October 24, striking a woman seated in the passenger seat.
Kelly, 24, had exchanged messages with her boyfriend, Elijah Baker, about suspected infidelity before the incident.
According to The Space Coast Daily, investigators said Baker picked up Angel Adenau in Kelly’s Volkswagen and drove near Bamboo Avenue.
Kelly reportedly followed his location on her phone and took an Uber to find him.
Detectives say she approached the passenger side carrying a pink-and-black Glock and fired through the window.
Adenau suffered a shoulder injury and was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center for treatment, per the outlet.

According to the arrest affidavit obtained by the outlet, investigators also recovered messages in which Kelly had threatened to shoot someone.
During questioning, Kelly initially claimed she acted in self-defense, authorities said. She later told detectives that she wanted to “make a point” because she believed Baker was cheating on her.
Baker allowed investigators to review his text conversation with Kelly, The Space Coast Rocketreported on October 26.
The affidavit quotes the exchange beginning at 1:37 a.m., in which Kelly repeatedly accused him of cheating “just like last time” and sent a screenshot of his location.
In one message, Kelly wrote, “Smart for leaving before I’m there to take her home,” followed by, “I waws finna shoot sum istg.” The affidavit interprets the phrase as meaning she was going to shoot someone or something.
At 4:06 a.m., according to the affidavit, Baker texted Kelly, “I love you in here any step of the way im sorry this even happened ut i promise im here for tou.”
