Wrestling icon and big-screen superhero Dwayne Johnson is nicknamed “The Rock” for his unbreakable image, but the hulking star confesses he’s grappling with a crippling case of PTSD following a terrifying brush with death.

The 6-foot-4, 260-pound movie hero reveals that he stared the Grim Reaper in the mug when his private plane nearly went down over the Pacific Ocean — and now the Fast & Furious star says he’s seeking therapy to beat post-traumatic stress and a sudden fear of flying.

The 53-year-old Jungle Cruise hero was flying from Hawaii to Texas March 28 to attend the second season opening night of the upstart United Football League, which he co-owns, when the aircraft was clobbered with what Johnson called “really f**king crazy turbulence.”

The pilot came back to inform him the plane was suffering from serious mechanical issues and had to return to Hawaii for safety reasons, sending the big-screen behemoth into a panic.

“He says, ‘Mr. Johnson, I’m sorry to inform you but we cannot continue to fly over the ocean, we have a problem,’” the rattled actor recalls, adding: “You can’t help but think … is this it?”

The star downed a double-shot cocktail on the way home as his life flashed before his eyes.

“When you’re back there alone with just your drink, hoping you make it back safely, you start to realize the st that’s really important in life … and the st that doesn’t matter,” he says. “I had one of those moments.”

A friend says that the near-miss still haunts the former wrestler, leaving him with feelings of dread when he hears of air tragedies, adding: “His wife, Lauren, urged him to see a therapist to conquer his fears, and he has agreed.

“Dwayne dwells on the thought it could have been the end of the line for him. He’s trying to get those thoughts out of his head, but it’s hard for him, especially when air crashes are in the news. He doesn’t want to go on living like this. There are fears he could have a heart attack just over the stress.”
