The former reality TV star sat down with host Brooke Goff on an episode of the Legally Goff Podcast posted to YouTube on Tuesday, October 20. Chapman, 73, had dark circles and pronounced bags under his eyes, as well as a noticeably puffy face. His signature long blond hair appeared unusually high along his forehead, with darker strands visible around his temples, prompting some viewers to question whether he was wearing a hairpiece.
“Wow he’s looking rough,” one YouTube viewer wrote in the comment section.
Another commented, “I think he wears a wig now!”

Others urged the TV star to look after himself. “Take care of yourself, Dog. Get healthy-you are SO worth it,” one fan wrote.
Several viewers linked his appearance to the loss of his fifth wife, Beth Chapman, who died at 51 after a battle with cancer in June 2019.
“He is obviously still in mourning. He looks so sad,” one person wrote in the comment section. Another added, “I think that when Beth died, the real Dog died too.”
Not all the reactions were negative, however. Plenty of fans were happy to see him. “I could literally listen to Dog talk for hours,” another YouTube viewer wrote.
But Beth’s death isn’t the only tragedy to have shaken Chapman’s family. He married Francie Frane in 2021.

As Globe previously reported, Frane’s son, Gregory Zecca, was arrested in February and charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child with a firearm and using a firearm while under the influence in the death of his 13-year-old son, Anthony, per the Daily Mail. Anthony died on July 19, 2025, in Naples, Florida.
After Anthony’s death, Chapman’s family told TMZ, “We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony.”
Zecca was denied bond following his February arrest, and his criminal case remains pending, according to Collier County court records viewed by Globe.
However, Globe reached out for comment to Zecca’s lawyer, Donald Day.
“He was not denied bond and we are still in the process of working on the case. No further comment would be appropriate at this time,” Day said in a statement.
