Cher ‘Has Her Hands Full’ With Troubled Son Elijah As Loved Ones Fear She’s Being Taken Advantage Of

Heartbroken mom Cher’s struggle to save her drug-addled son Elijah Blue Allman hit a land mine when his estranged wife, Marieangela King, filed court papers seeking colossal alimony payments that would bleed the 79-year-old Moonstruck star dry.

Just days after Elijah was hospitalized after being found in a heroin- and fentanyl-induced haze in Joshua Tree, Calif., Marieangela, 37, submitted a financial disclosure form claiming she needs $12,000 a month in spousal support!

Although the Oscar winner is focusing all her energies right now on saving her 49-year-old son, she also wants to protect her estimated $360 million fortune from Marieangela, who she always believed was a gold digger.

Elijah, who also receives money from a trust established by his father, the late rocker Gregg Allman, went into a major downward spiral after Marieangela slammed him with divorce papers on April 8, 2025, after 12 years of marriage.

Looking bloated and bleary-eyed, he was rushed to a hospital on June 15 after an apparent drug binge inside an Airbnb.

Only five days later, cold-hearted Marieangela filed court documents stating she only had $3,651.96 in the bank and claiming that her monthly expenses include $5,000 for rent, $3,000 for entertainment, gifts and vacations, $1,500 for groceries, $500 for medical insurance, $600 for utilities and $500 for clothes, cell phone and internet.

She’s also seeking $6,000 a month in temporary spousal support, $10,000 in lawyer fees, and the possession of the couple’s 2017 Toyota Prius, according to court documents.

Elijah’s divorce drama is not the only potential drain on the “Believe” singer’s wallet and emotions — pals fear her 39-year-old boytoy, record producer Alexander “A.E.” Edwards, is also taking her for a ride.

“Friends have been wanting her to dump him for some time and she’s starting to come around to the idea,” says a tipster, who notes that he skipped her May birthday party.

“But Cher has her hands full right now with Elijah,” says the source. “She doesn’t have the bandwidth to care about drama with Alex. He’s low on her priority list.”
