Britney Spears Skips Mom Lynne Spears’ Milestone 70th Birthday Party Despite Previous Reconciliation

Britney Spears missed her mom’s 70th birthday brunch as the pop tart continues to spiral into a mental tailspin while she broods about past resentments, sources tell GLOBE.

Last year on her mother’s birthday, Britney, 43, appeared to have reconciled with her family, posting a photo of Lynne alongside her sister Jamie Lynn’s daughters — Maddie, 16, and Ivey Joan, 7. In a heartwarming caption, she wrote that she “misses” her “absolutely beautiful” family.

But this year, the off-her-rocker singer was MIA.

“Lynne tried to make light of the fact that Britney wasn’t there to celebrate her milestone, but it’s breaking her heart that it’s come to this again,” says an insider. “Lynne was so hopeful that things were finally getting better, but Britney has suddenly raised the shields again over some imagined slight.”

As readers know, the Toxic songbird was under a 13-year conservatorship supervised by her dad, Jamie, 72, until she finally broke free in 2021. Their battle also poisoned her relationship with Lynne and Jamie Lynn, 34.

Britney is “bitter” they didn’t help her escape the conservatorship and goes “hot and cold” when it comes to forgiving them, says a source.

“There are times when it seems Britney is ready to move forward, at least with her mom. Then she will suddenly do a complete 180 and become very closed off,” says a source.

The only one she speaks to regularly is her older brotherBryan, 48, but she’s often out of touch with him, too.

“It’s so devastating for her family to see her spiraling, they want to help but she won’t let them,” insists the insider.

Meanwhile, Britney sparked worries again when she complained on Instagram that she was about to “lose my damn mind” because she had stayed indoors for much of the year.

“She’s clearly losing it and things aren’t getting better. Of course, like any mother, Lynne is worried, especially as Britney doesn’t want anything to do with her. Thankfully, Lynne has Jamie Lynn and Bryan, but the family still feels fractured without Britney — no one can fully be happy knowing she’s in such trouble,” the source says.
