Bill Hader Admits He Got Fired for Telling ‘Titanic’ Spoiler at Movie Theater Job
Funnyman Bill Hader says loose lips once sank his ship when he was fired from a pre-fame movie theater job for giving away the ending of Titanic.
The Saturday Night Live alum, 46, says a group of sorority girls who had rented out an entire screening of the 1997 epic mocked his appearance by saying he looked like cult leader Charles Manson.
“Which I kinda did,” he admits.
But after the girls refused his request to stop blocking a doorway, Hader explains, “When they went in, as I tore the tickets, I was like, ‘Enjoy the movie. The boat sinks at the end. Leo dies.’
“And they were like, ‘No, he doesn’t.’ I go, ‘Yeah, you think he’s asleep. But he’s frozen.’ And that showed them.”
